Due to a malfunction during manufacturing in the heat treatment tempering process, excessive residual stress may cause a crack and separation of the right front axle driveshaft.

When moving from a stopped position, the crack can lead to a separation of the shaft, causing a loud noise. The vehicle would then lose motive power and in some cases, this may lead to an accident.
