The stop lamp relay may stick in the ON position.
Learn MoreIf the stop lamp relay sticks in the ON position, the following may occur:
1. The stop lamps remain illuminated when the brakes are not being applied; or
2. Loss of engine power; or
3. The driver may be able to shift the vehicle out of park or start the engine without depressing the brake pedal.
This increases the risk of an accident and injury or death to vehicle occupants or other road users.
Learn MoreNissan will contact affected consumers in writing. Consumers will be advised to contact their Nissan Dealer to organise the inspection and, if necessary, re-positioning of the stop lamp switch and replacement of the stop lamp relay, at no cost.
