How is my car’s value estimated?

We compare available market listings for the identified make, model and year. The ranges reflect asking prices, which can differ from final sale prices. The quality of the vehicle match and the amount of available data affect the estimate.

Is this valuation really free?

Yes. You can check the available valuation without signing up, giving us your email or entering payment details. A full AUCN Car Report is a separate, one-off purchase.

Does the valuation tell me whether the car is safe to buy?

A valuation helps you understand the price. It does not verify the vehicle’s history or mechanical condition. Review its PPSR and history information, and arrange an independent inspection before buying.

What if there isn’t enough data for a valuation?

Some vehicles have too few recent comparable listings to support a useful estimate. If we cannot identify your vehicle, check the Rego and state or try the 17-character VIN. A missing estimate does not mean the car is a good or bad purchase.
